Hawaii Legislature Overrides Card Check Bill Veto
On July 15, 2009, the Hawaii legislature voted to override the Card Check bill, along with 38 other bills recently vetoed by Governor Lingle. All told, Governor Lingle vetoed 57 bills that had passed. The Card Check bill allows workers in the agricultural industry to vote for union representation without having a secret ballot election.
